Comercial de Prensa SIGLO XXI SA, with registered headquarters in Getafe, Spain, is a private company engaged in the wholesale distribution of household products. The Company was incorporated in the form of Sociedad anonima in January of 1980. In addition, the Company is also involved in the distribution of reading materials such as newspapers and magazines. The Company acquired approximately 80% shares from Compania de Distribucion Integral Logista SA -- a Spain-based publicly quoted company specializes in European logistics solutions for the tobacco and publishing industries. Furthermore, the Company is affiliated with Spain-based company Unidad Editorial SA and is ultimately owned by Altadis SA. Unidad Editorial is the parent company of Spain's second-largest national newspaper El Mundo (behind "El Pais"). The company also publishes magazines and supplements as well as books through its La Esfera de Los Libros unit. While Altadis is a Spain-based company which is a multinational purveyor and manufacturer of cigarettes, tobacco and cigars. Altadis is the result of a 1999 merger between Tabacalera, the former Spanish tobacco monopoly and SEITA, the former French tobacco monopoly.
