The company is engaged in the manufacture of generator sets, light towers and welders. It was founded in 1982 and was incorporated in February 1993. The registered head office of the company is located in Getafe, Spain. The company, with subsidiaries around the world, serves as one of the largest manufacturers of generator sets from 1kW to 2 megawatts. The company has active operations in the United States through its principal subsidiary Himoinsa USA, Inc., which is responsible for North America's sales and marketing, distribution, aftermarket support and assembly of gen-sets. It also has active operations in France through SA GenElec, an industrial enterprise which was incorporated in July 1991 and is involved in the sale of electrical equipment.
